Satya is the sanskrit word for "truthfulness" as outlined in the Yoga Sutras. Practicing Satya means that we see and communicate things as they actually are, not as we wish them to be. This can be challenging, since we all perceive life through a different lens. Our thoughts, beliefs, and past experiences shape and color whatever we see, and none of us experience life in the same way. Similarly, what we experience as 'truth' one day may not be the same truth we relate to the next day.
Practicing Satya requires us to stay open to truth as it reveals itself. To not get ‘stuck’ or limit our growth potential for fear of admitting we were wrong.
